We are doing an Advent Calendar Sale with Holy Trinity and Chelsea school! All the proceeds will be going to towards two projects.
This year we are fundraising for 2 projects. The first project is with SHE. This is our second project with SHE - in March we quickly initiated our Facemask Fundraiser and that went extremely well,
helping many students and teachers at my secondary school - Chelsea Academy, stay safe by wearing handmade African cotton face masks made by women and girls in Togo, Africa.
All the proceeds went to supporting the lives and education of girls and young women in Togo, Africa.
We realize that food is a large struggle for families in Togo, Africa with 365,000 people suffering from acute malnutrition and more than 60% of the population in extreme poverty that we needed to do something about it. Also, to this day, nearly 30% of children under the age of 5 experience chronic malnourishment, with spikes of up to 43% in the Savannah region, where the dry, hot climate drastically worsens hunger and poverty. It has been identified that ending hunger can begin with empowering girls and women in regions/countries suffering from poverty.
We want to create a better life by giving them nutritious lunches (Give a Free Lunch!) that will help them thrive. So we are extending our partnership with SHE and launching a school lunch program for a school for 180 girls in Togo, Africa. The Advent Calendar Sale would help us raise funds to start the very beginnning of forming the lunch program. In 2021, we aim to raise approximately £6000 for a year long lunch program.
Our second project is with Holy Trinity and Chelsea! Kaeden brought to our attention that Holy Trinity School has a damp wall in the lunch area and are looking for help to repair it. We would love to do just that.
We hope our fundraising could go towards the help of fixing the wall to create a better lunch time experience for the children.
This is aligned with our vision of supporting locally and globally!
